Lowland whisky distilleries

The Lowlands stretch across southern Scotland, from Glasgow and Edinburgh down to the Borders. Lowland whiskies are traditionally light, soft and grassy, and some distilleries here keep up the tradition of triple distillation.

After many closures last century, the region has seen a wave of new distilleries, several of them in or close to the cities.
