About this project
Scotland has around 150 whisky distilleries, from the big Speyside names to small island setups you’d only find if someone told you about them. When I started planning distillery visits, I couldn’t find one place that showed them all on a map, with up-to-date links and the basics of where they are and how to visit.
So I built one.
Distillery Finder is a free, independent map of whisky distilleries across Scotland. You can use it to plan a trip, find what’s near where you’re staying, or discover distilleries you’d never heard of. Every distillery links straight to its own official website. I’d rather send you to the source for tour times and bookings than repeat information that might go out of date.
Who’s behind it
I’m Kyle, a whisky enthusiast based in Edinburgh. Distillery Finder is a passion project, built and maintained in my spare time, and I’m adding to it all the time.
Accuracy and corrections
Distillery Finder is an independent, non-commercial project. It isn’t affiliated with any distillery, brand or tourism body.
I aim to keep every listing accurate, but distilleries open, close, rebrand, change their tours and facilities, and sometimes shut temporarily for building work, often with little notice. Some listings may be incomplete or out of date, and not every distillery in Scotland is on the map yet.
Not every distillery is open to the public. Some don’t offer visits at all, and others are closed temporarily. They’re still listed, because the aim of Distillery Finder is to map every operational distillery, whether or not you can visit, simply because I want to know where they all are. Distilleries closed to visitors are labelled as such and hidden on the map unless you choose to include them.
Always check the distillery’s own website before you visit, especially for tour availability, booking requirements and seasonal opening. I’m not responsible for the content or availability of external websites.
If you spot an error, a missing distillery or something that’s changed, please get in touch and I’ll fix it.
Support the project
Distillery Finder is free and always will be. If it’s helped you plan a trip and you’d like to support it, you can buy me a coffee (or a dram).
